Your assignment originates at Division 7 — the Vast City Security Agency's operational command. Each active case provides your primary directive and the first thread to pull. Read carefully. Not everything relevant will be stated outright.
Vast City operates as a network of institutions — each with its own subdomain, its own public-facing records, and its own concealed data. Some locations are referenced directly in your briefing. Others must be found: embedded in official documents, buried in department notices, or surfaced by cross-referencing data across agencies.
The city does not yield its information freely. Each location holds a puzzle — crack it, and the next clue surfaces. A code found in one place unlocks another. Cross-reference. Read the source. Nothing is where it appears to be.
Evidence is distributed across institutions. A reference buried in a hospital record, a restricted notice on the Harbour Authority site, a classified entry in the Surveyor's archive. Solve one puzzle and the next thread reveals itself — until the full picture emerges.
When the evidence has been assembled and the answer confirmed, submit your final report to Division 7. Successful case closure earns you XP and advances your clearance level within the Agency. Commendations are issued for exceptional fieldwork.
